Tyler grew up in the surrounding area in Flint Michigan who very early on fell in love with Northern Michigan. With spending so many summers camping and hiking it helped reinforce his love for nature and his growing dedication to make a career out of protecting the environment.
Tyler graduated with a bachelors in Wildlife Biology from the University of Michigan Flint Campus with honors. Soon after he joined the Huron Pines AmeriCorps program for two service terms, serving in Lansing as an engagement specialist then a stewardship technician in
Leelanau. Having done a full year working with invasive species management with CAKE CISMA Tyler found his way to ISN to continue working to treat Hemlock Woolly Adelgid in the area.
In his free time, you’ll find Tyler on the trails often with binoculars and his phone at the ready as he looks for and listens for birds. Be careful if you stop to talk to him, he will talk your ear off about how wonderful birds are.
