Murielle grew up in Grand Haven and has enjoyed spending time in nature from a young age. She often would go to the Upper Peninsula with her family to go camping in the summer and for archery deer season in the fall. Taking an environmental science class in high school solidified her choice to pursue a career in the environmental field. She graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Natural Resources Management with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. She also acquired her GIS and Technology certificate while at GVSU. As a student, Murielle began working for Ottawa County Parks and Recreation in a variety of capacities. She was an intern at the county’s nature education center where she assisted with environmental education programming for children and adults. She also worked on the stewardship crew doing a variety of things, including invasive species removal and restoration work. Murielle joined ISN in April 2022 as a Habitat Management Specialist. In her spare time, Murielle enjoys writing and performing poetry, enjoying live music, swimming, and backpacking.
